ErgoLIMS for Electrical Testing
8 methods · 6 instruments · 5 limits on day one

A safety test that passed is worth what the record says.

Electrical product testing carries a BIS licence behind it. ErgoLIMS holds the IS and IEC methods, evaluates against the conductor and insulation limits on entry, and keeps the licence number on every sample it applies to.

The problem

The licence is on the line, and the evidence is in a folder

Conductor resistance limits vary by cross-section and temperature. Insulation resistance is checked against a table. The BIS licence number the sample was tested under sits on a covering letter, not the record. When BIS asks for evidence of routine testing, assembling it is a week of work.

What ErgoLIMS does about it

Six things a electrical lab gets that a spreadsheet cannot give it

Each of these is a shipped capability, not a roadmap item.

Conductor and insulation limits evaluated on entry

Volume resistivity, conductor resistance at 20 °C for 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm², high-voltage withstand and insulation resistance limits arrive pre-loaded from IS 694 and IS 8130. A breach flags as the value is entered.

A failing cable is caught at the bench, not at certificate review.

The BIS licence travels with the sample

Batch, BIS licence number, voltage rating and grade or type are structured registration fields on every sample — searchable, printable and permanent.

Produce every result tested under a licence as one query.

HV sets that lapse cannot certify

HV test sets, insulation resistance testers, micro-ohmmeters and oil BDV kits carry calibration and maintenance schedules with certificates attached. A lapsed calibration locks the instrument out of result entry.

No safety certificate rests on an out-of-date test set.

High voltage work needs a cleared operator

Per-method authorisations carry competency level and expiry. An operator not signed off for dielectric testing cannot report against that method — refused on the server, not hidden in the interface.

Competency for hazardous work is enforced, not filed.

Temperature-corrected resistance, computed

Analysts enter measured resistance and temperature; the server evaluates the correction to 20 °C with your rounding rules and writes an immutable execution log.

The corrected value is reproducible from the raw reading.

Certificates a purchaser can verify

Reports carry a NABL ULR allocated atomically and a public QR code anyone can scan without logging in. A revoked report returns a hard error rather than continuing to look valid.

A buyer can confirm a safety certificate is genuine in seconds.

Who it is for

Three people in the lab, three different wins

Test Engineer

Enter the measured resistance and temperature; the correction, the limit check and the record are the system's job.

Quality Manager

Every result tested under a BIS licence is one query, and every failure carries a documented investigation.

Manufacturer / Client

Verify a safety certificate by QR without calling the lab, and track jobs through the portal.

Built to be assessed

Compliance a electrical assessor will recognise

IS 694 · IS 8130 · IS 335 · IS 2026

Cable, conductor, transformer oil and transformer loss methods with their published references, plus five pre-loaded limits.

IEC 60228 · 60335 · 60947 · 60811

Conductor resistance, appliance safety, switchgear temperature rise and cable insulation methods seeded as editable templates.

NABL · ISO/IEC 17025:2017

ULR numbering, authorised signatories, method validation, measurement uncertainty and a full quality management system.

And you do not start from an empty system

Choose the electrical domain at setup and ErgoLIMS provisions the scaffolding for you — as editable templates, not a locked configuration. Limits shown arrive pre-loaded. They are editable, versioned and can be overridden per customer or per product.

Questions we hear from electrical labs

Five limits arrive seeded, including conductor resistance at 20 °C for 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm², volume resistivity, high-voltage withstand and insulation resistance. Additional cross-sections are added as specifications.
