Every result is evaluated against its specification as it is entered. An arsenic or coliform breach flags on the spot and opens an out-of-specification investigation — before anyone drafts a report.
The sample carries its own provenance
Collection point, GPS coordinates, temperature at collection, chain-of-custody number and field blank ID are structured fields on the sample record — searchable, printable, auditable. Not free text in a remarks box.
Calculated parameters stop living in Excel
Link a formula to a method and analysts enter variables, not answers. ErgoLIMS computes the result server-side, applies significant figures and rounding, derives expanded measurement uncertainty, and logs the execution.
The certificate defends itself
Every COA carries a NABL ULR number allocated atomically — no gaps, no duplicates — and a QR code. A municipal client scans it and confirms the report is genuine and current; a revoked report says so.
Different clients, different limits, one method
IS 10500 is the default. Per-customer and per-product specifications override it, so the same pH method judges a municipal supply and an industrial effluent by their own criteria.
An out-of-calibration instrument cannot report
Calibration and preventive-maintenance schedules sit on every instrument. Once a due date passes, that instrument is locked out of result entry until calibration is recorded.
